Challenges!

Today was a rather interesting day. I had a practicum today and went on my first home visit. Now for those of you that don't know, I am going to school to become a School Psychologist. Basically I will work with students of all ages and make changes in thier educational curriculum to help them learn better. I will also partner with teachers and parents and help create interventions that can be made to improve the educational environment of their students and children. I will be making home visits from time to time as well. And this will be very eye opening because I will be going into homes of all types and encounter family situations that are very tragic. This home visit today wasn't the worst I will encounter but it definitely was not the best. This will be the tough part about my job because I will see the kind of environments these kids are living in and have to deal with the fact that I can't do very much to get them out of these situations. However, it also excites me because I have a feeling I will have many opportunities to share my faith with these people. Which in turn will allow more opportunities to get involved in these peoples lives and show God's love to them. Something that I was reminded of this afternoon was that this world is a mission field. We often think of missions as going to foreign lands. Most likely this career choice will not lead me to foreign lands with tons of lost people but it will lead me to local communities with tons of lost people. So basically I am looking at these opportunities as local mission projects. I know this will be a challenge due to the many types of people I will have to deal with. But I know that God will be there. And with God all things are possible!!!

SNAKE!!!!

Random story!!!

Today I was walking out to my mailbox and of course somewhat oblivious to my surroundings.  I just so happened to look down on the ground and there was a snake!  I absolutely don't like SNAKES!!!!!  For a brief moment I was very close to screaming very loudly and then running back inside.  But I was able to keep my composure and continue to get my mail.  On my way back I noticed it hadn't moved so I threw something at it and realized it was dead.  I guess in my opinion the only kind of snake I like is a dead one!!!

Stresses of Life

The Game of Life.  Wow, it is definitely a game...sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.  Of course it is ALWAYS more fun to win!!  But winning isn't always possible worldly speaking.  It is so great to know that eternally we always win if we stick with God.  Even when things come your way that seem impossible to conquer, God is there.  That's where this little thing called trust comes in.  Man, is that ever hard sometimes.  Whenever we trust God it results in great rewards but waiting it out is so trying and difficult at times.  Sometimes It seems so much easier to give up.  But on the other hand some of the things that come our way are in God's will and his way of testing our trust and committment to him.  Even though they seem crazy or off the wall a weird sense of peace is there too.  God is great and he is faithful and that seems to give me hope and motivation to not give up on him.  He has taught me a lot lately about trust and it is so comforting to know that I can peacefully wait on him to provide in all the stresses of life.

Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not to your own understanding in all thy ways acknowledge him and he will direct your path.

School's out for the rest of the summer!!!!!!!

I am done with summer class as of today!!! WOOHOO!!!!  That is so exciting to me because now I don't have to do homework!! (for that class at least!!!)  I think I now understand why I always chose not to go to school in the summer!!! haha

On a different note, I am so thankful that God is there with me!  He is such a good and faithful God and honestly I don't know how anyone could not want a relationship with him!!  It is so easy to take for granted the many blessings that he gives us.  And to know that the stupid little things that we freak out about are nothing to God can be mind-boggling!! He just tells us that he's got it taken care of!!  That brings so much comfort and peace!!! I couldn't make it through life without that connection!  Again, I am so grateful that God loves us enough to calm the storms of our lives!!!  What an amazing God we serve!!!  Thank you God for your love and kindness you bring to us!!

I hope everyone has a GREAT!!!!!!!! day!!!!!!!!!!!!

Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, His love endures forever. Psalms 136:1
